That works fine for me! McNally also discusses old wood vs. new wood, a subject dear to my heart. I do not buy new kits, because the wood being used these days in drums comes from tree farms. The trees from these farms grow really fast due to growth hormones, but don’t have the right kind of density for drums in my opinion and others. Plus, the older wood gets, the better is sounds.
